Whether you are filing an insurance claim or paying for the repairs yourself, the process begins with an estimate. Many insurance companies will write their own estimates. Their adjuster will come to you or meet you at Cook’s Paint and Body. If not, we will prepare an initial estimate and discuss with you the details before we begin work. Cook’s always works from the initial estimate. If there is hidden damage, we will write a supplemental estimate and send it to you and your insurance company.
Many of our competitors advertise they will “pay your deductible”. Be wary of this. Either they are “padding the bill” or skipping something in the repair process.
If you are “at fault”, your insurance company will be for the payment less any deductible.
If you are not responsible for the accident, you are the “claimant”. The accident repairs will be paid in full by the at-fault party.
